Job Description Job Description Superintendent Position Overview Seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site execution of commercial and institutional projects ranging from $3M-$10M. This role is ideal for a field leader with a strong background in public-sector or higher education construction, including occupied campuses and compliance-driven environments. The Superintendent will be responsible for day-to-day field operations, safety enforcement, schedule adherence, quality control, and coordination of subcontractors, inspectors, and internal project teams. Key Responsibilities Lead daily on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout Oversee projects within active and occupied environments, including higher education campuses Manage and coordinate subcontractors, self-perform crews, and inspectors Maintain the project schedule, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions Enforce site safety protocols, conduct safety meetings, and ensure OSHA compliance Review drawings and specifications to ensure work is performed in accordance with contract documents Coordinate inspections, testing, and public agency requirements Partner closely with Project Managers to manage sequencing, RFIs, logistics, and milestones Maintain daily reports, look-ahead schedules, and site documentation Ensure high standards of quality, cleanliness, and professionalism on-site Required Qualifications 7 years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects Proven experience working on public-sector, institutional, or higher education projects Background managing projects in the $3M-$10M range Strong understanding of California building codes, inspections, and public agency processes Experience working in active/occupied facilities or campus environments Ability to manage multiple trades and self-perform work Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Preferred Experience Higher education or university project experience Tenant improvement and renovation work within older or complex facilities Experience on projects requiring strict safety, compliance, and quality controls Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision 401K with Match Generous PTO Bonus Plan - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
