Job Description Job Description Job Title: Laboratory Manager Job Description Lead and oversee daily laboratory operations and staff. Mentor and develop team members; ensure appropriate training and performance management. Manage quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory compliance, and prepare for inspections. Responsibilities Oversee staffing, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning. Drive process improvements, project management, and test performance review. Maintain test databases and ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) reflect current practices. Coordinate research and development activities and manage departmental budget and resources. Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety standards. Maintain safe, functional laboratory facilities and equipment. Interact with clients to resolve issues. Perform additional duties as assigned. Essential Skills Bachelor's Degree in a Life Science, preferably Chemistry or Medical Laboratory Science. 6 years of Clinical Lab Experience in a high-complexity testing lab. 1-2 years of supervisory experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications ASCP Certification Preferred - MLS or Chemistry C (ASCP). Experience in a Clinical Chemistry lab is preferred. Work Environment The position is based in a clinical lab environment, which is very busy with increasing volumes. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
