Job Description Description A Brief Overview
- Demonstrable skill and proficiency in all expected areas of
Grade 1 plus can work multiple areas and/or sites
independently
- Performs ancillary testing, assists on projects and takes on
additional tasks(QC, QA, grossing of additional non-bx specimen
types, etc.) as needed under supervision, follows all hospital
policies and procedures consistently.
- Processes tissue samples by embedding, sectioning and staining
slides for histological diagnosis. Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to
documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain
Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual
training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are
in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications Education
- Associate's Degree in biological or chemical science and
certification requirement specific in CLIA '88 to perform high
complexity testing. (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in biological or chemical science and
certification requirement specific in CLIA '88 to perform high
complexity testing. preferred Work Experience
- 2+ years experience preferred or at a minimum a graduate from a
certified HT program with 2 years work experience. (Required)
