Quality Control Technician, Weekend Night Shift

Job Description:

As a Quality Control Technician, Weekend Night Shift, you will be responsible for performing various scientific analyses to evaluate the quality of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods and ensure compliance with established standards. This position will be onsite in Cleveland, OH reporting to the Supplier Development and Raw Materials Manager. *This shift is 4x days of working 5:00pm-3:30am and will include weekends.*

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis and tests of raw materials, in-process materials and finished products samples of manufactured/intermediate products to verify conformity to specifications.
• Conducts in-coming raw materials testing, ensuring conformance to required specifications.
• Records test results on batch tickets and in company's computer operating system.
• Organizes and maintains quality records and retains of production/intermediate batches and raw material champions
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of tests
• Sets up, adjusts, verifies, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments
• Maintain housekeeping of the working place
• Respect the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Policy
• Evaluates retains of production batches in response to quality complaints.
• Performs 5S audits or other audits according to a plan.
• Support all Quality Control related One PPG initiatives Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • College chemistry and math are preferred, but basic knowledge of mathematics and scientific principles required.
  • Ability to understand record and verbalize detailed information accurately.
  • Able to lift over 25 pounds in order to handle materials.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
