First Shift Position working 8am to 4:30pm. Typical schedule will
include four weekdays and one weekend day._*Pay Rate: *_$16.00 per
hour plus an additional $1.00 per hour for weekend hours._*What
You'll Do: *_Entails final product labeling of all blood products,
irradiating/xraying of blood products for special orders. Works
independently with a high volume of work with minimal supervision.
As the employee gains experience, they will be trained on
retrieving products for quarantine, evaluating products in
quarantine for release. Manage waste disposal of discarded products
and shipping samples and products for research.* Manufacture,
label, and store blood products according to applicable Red Cross
policies and procedures.* Once the units have gone through the
manufacturing process, all the testing results have been received,
blood donor records have been reviewed and all the i's dotted and
t's crossed, the units are ready to be labeled.* Products are
retrieved from their storage location and run through the labeling
program. This will either label the unit as a good stock unit and
is destined to move on and be distributed or will tell us that the
unit needs to be quarantined till something is resolved or may even
tell us that the unit is rejected and must be thrown away.* Manage
sample tubes and prepare for shipment.* Meet the quality and
quantity production and distribution goals established by the
department.* Ensure products are suitable for release for
distribution.* Appropriately manage any exceptions.* Prioritize
workload to meet production and customer requirements.* Operate,
maintain and perform validation and quality control checks on
equipment.* Ensure adequate inventory of required supplies.*
Perform data entry and operate the computer programs associated
with component production, labeling, storage, and sample tube
management.* Maintain accurate electronic and physical inventory
locations for products/samples.* Analyze and make decisions based
on visual inspection and information provided from other
departments to meet time requirements and quality standards.*
Perform disposition of unacceptable products/samples.* Perform
complex manufacturing tasks such as pooled product manufacturing,
freeze,* On-call work may be required._*What We Need From You: *_*
High School or equivalent required.* Minimum 2 years of related
experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing
environment or equivalent combination of education and related
experience preferred.* Good computer skills, attention to detail,
accurate documentation, and good decision-making skills.* Ability
to use a wide variety of lab or medical equipment.* Ability to use
a personal computer and applicable software for sustained periods.*
Good communication skills. Ability to work on a team.* Frequently
lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs unassisted.? Frequently required
to push carts weighing up to 100 pounds on flat flooring or ramps.
Frequently required to stand for long periods, walk, stoop, kneel
or crouch.* Able to withstand temperatures in a typical blood
banking environment including refrigerators and freezers_*Physical
Requirements*_*: *Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle
or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Frequently
lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs unassisted.? Frequently required
to push carts weighing up to 100 pounds on flat flooring or ramps.
Frequently required to stand for long periods, walk, stoop, kneel
or crouch. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close
vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception and ability to adjust and focus. Able to withstand
temperatures in a typical blood banking environment including
refrigerators and freezers. Position may require climbing of step
