Job Description:
Description: The Quality Technician is responsible for the
quality control of products and processes from receiving through
product shipment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/STANDARDS
- Responsible for the inspection of purchased material,
in-process assemblies, and final products
- Conduct inspections in accordance with established plans,
procedures, or practices
- Utilize appropriate inspection equipment
- Document inspection and test results; maintain storage of
appropriate documentation
- Identify non-conformances and initiate Non-conforming Material
process
- Maintain equipment and work area; keep works clean and
organized.
- Maintain Calibration program. -
- Perform and maintain calibrations of appropriate
equipment.
- Interface with outside calibration services
- Record calibration data and maintain storage of records.
- Serve as a quality resource to Manufacturing.
- Assist Quality Manager as required
- Participate as Internal Auditor once trained.
- Other duties as assigned Requirements: INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS:
- Must work effectively with manager and co-workers in a variety
of areas including Quality, Production, Engineering, Customer
Service
- Provide consistent and pro-active support to the
organization
- Act in a professional manner ADHERENCE TO COMPANY POLICIES &
PROCEDURES:
- Demonstrate an understanding of, adheres to and enforces all
policies and procedures
- Demonstrate and ensure compliance with regulatory and
government standards (i.e. OSHA). EDUCATION
- Minimum two-year Associate degree in a technical field
- Member ASQ preferred
- ASQ CMI, CQT preferred EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Minimum 3 years Quality/Inspection experience; calibration and
metrology background preferred.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and instructions
required.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work
activities.
- Computer Skills. (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, 2-D and 3-D
drawing software use /knowledge a plus)
- Ability to use CMM and Optical comparator preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal
skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS This position operates
in a manufacturing environment and requires the use standard office
and inspection equipment.
- Sit 1/2 of the time - stand 1/2 of the time
- Close vision with color, depth perception and ability to adjust
focus
- Requires that weight be lifted up to 40 lbs.
- Work near moving mechanical parts
