In return, we'll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. Job Summary We are seeking a Research Technician 2 for our Safety Assessment Group site located Cleveland, OH. The following are responsibilities related to the Research Technician 1: Provide scientific support for nonclinical research or laboratory-based studies. Provide technical support for nonclinical research or laboratory-based studies. Support development and execution of biochemical and cell-based assays in single test article and/or medium-throughput screening formats, as well as other novel alternative methods for in vitro toxicology assessment. * Execution study protocols and laboratory-based procedures, including those requiring compliance with various regulatory guidelines. * Assure that all data for the studies are accurately recorded and verified. * Use of automation and relevant computer programs to analyze and interpret screening results. * Collect and record research data and biological specimens in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLPs), study protocols, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies when performing all job functions as required. * Familiarity with cell culture techniques using mammalian cell lines and/or primary cells. Experience working with mammalian stem cells and/or advanced culture techniques preferred. * Contribute to department operations improvement in areas such as process development, SOP revisions, department inspections, and equipment maintenance. * Must be able to perform effectively as a team member, accurately record data, follow verbal and written instructions, communicate effectively, and interact in a professional manner with management and coworkers. * Perform all other related duties as assigned. The following are minimum qualifications related to the Research Technician 1 position: * Education: Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a related scientific discipline. * Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years related experience in a contract research organization (CRO), academic, biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment. Previous experience developing and interpreting the results of complex in vitro toxicology assays and/or experience working to GLP standards preferred. * An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
