SUMMARY OF POSITIONThis role's two primary responsibilities include servicing events with 10-149 room nights on peak for definite business booked within the sales department and being the services lead for the planning and executing internal events at Destination Cleveland. The role requires an individual with outstanding customer service skills as well as a strong attention to detail and the ability to be flexible.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProactively reach out to events 10-149 room nights on peak booked within our sales department and act as the services representative for those events.Follow the services SOP on the specific services that are approved to offer events that have 10-149 peak room nightsLead the planning on internal Destination Cleveland events.Liaise with vendors and stakeholders during the planning process to ensure event details are in order, while maintaining the event budget.Serve as a liaison between the hotel community, partners, vendors and the client community for assigned events.Assist in managing the Destination Cleveland Volunteer Program during city-wide events.Become knowledgeable of Cleveland's facilities, attractions, and partners of Destination Cleveland while also forging relationships with the contacts at those venues.Understand all support services and tiers that Destination Cleveland offers to the convention industry.Plan, coordinate and implement special projects as assigned. RequirementsQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, the candidate must be passionate and outgoing about the city of Cleveland and be able to provide the highest level of customer service to our clients. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAssociate or Bachelor's degree and 3+ year's event management experience (preferred) OR 3+ years relevant work experience.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Possesses a can-do attitude and can provide a high level of customer service.Must possess strong organizational skills and time management skills.Strong team player with ability to work independently as well.Expert level knowledge and experience of computer systems, specifically Microsoft Office.Maintains a professional image and manner with customers.REASONING ABILITYMust be flexible, resourceful and possess an ability to get things done and exceed expectations of the clients and sales & services managers.Ability to fully grasp all departments at Destination Cleveland and how they can work in tandem to provide convention clients value to their events and attendees.Possess the ability to know what is urgent vs. not urgentStrong follow up skills to track where they are with tasks assignedAbility to say no when needed to client asking for more than what we can offer a group, while providing a solution for what we can do for them. OTHER REQUIREMENTSFamiliarity with the City of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.Job requires working some weekends, early morning, and nights. Potential for a more hybrid work environment after probationary period.
