Social Services Internship
Part Time/Temporary - (May 15, 2023 - August 15, 2023)
**$2,500 Stipend**
McGregor - Supporting Seniors in need and those who serve them.
What do I need as a Social Services Intern with McGregor?

• Currently a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in social work, gerontology or public health.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability and confidence to interact with staff at all levels and external constituents. What will I do as a Social Services Intern with McGregor?
  • Shadow social workers to gain knowledge and experience in:
    
    • Psychosocial assessments
    • Documentation
    • Problem solving
    • PHQ-9 (to test for depression)
    • MINI Mental (to test for cognition level)
    • Interdisciplinary meetings
    • How to do inspections of Group homes/nursing homes/assisted living facilities
    • How to complete government reports such as Level 2
    • How to facilitate a group
    • Experience with a small case load
    • Attend team meetings
    • Attend operational team meetings
    • How to complete Significant change sheets
    • Work on small projects as determined with the Director
