The Opportunity XA Talent is currently seeking a dynamic
results-driven Business Development Representative with a proven
track record in software sales, who is ready to take their career
to the next level, to join our client's sales team. The ideal
candidate will be accountable for working closely with the CEO to
drive new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and
expand the customer base. You will play a critical role in
identifying and pursuing key prospects, establishing strong
relationships, and driving the sales process to close deals in
pursuit of achieving revenue targets. What Makes This Opportunity
Only for An Ambitious and Capable Person Over the past 15 years,
the CEO has grown the company to several million dollars of annual
revenues in software and associates professional services sales as
the sole salesperson. The CEO is now looking for an experienced
business development person to leverage existing lessons learned
that have achieved current revenue targets, establish formal
business development practices utilizing your experience and
suggested technologies to increase sales, and then hire additional
sales personnel resources as necessary based on results. This is an
opportunity for the right person to build and manage a sales
organization. The selected candidate will start with an existing
client base where revenues can be expanded, utilizing existing
personnel resources such as an Account Manager and Marketing
Specialist. At a minimum, the selected candidate will be an
extremely "ambitious" Business Development Representative (BDR) who
is ready to "step up" and has several years of experience selling
software and/or related professional services to government and/or
commercial enterprises. Years of experience are not as much of a
priority as capability, maturity, and professionalism. Under the
direction of the CEO, the person needs to know how to generate
leads on their own, find prospects through referrals, and nurture
the prospects through a consultative sales process by asking the
right questions, exposing pain points of business challenges, and
demonstrating solutions that resolve those business challenges. The
wrong candidate will require a leads list as this position calls
for a self-starter who is extremely "ambitious." You will be
supported by the CEO who will provide guidance and coaching with
the expectation that you will lead the charge. Does this describe
you? What You Will Be Accountable For The ideal candidate will be
accountable for driving new business opportunities, building
strategic partnerships, and expanding our customer base. You will
play a critical role in identifying and pursuing key prospects,
establishing strong relationships, and closing deals to achieve
revenue targets. Develop and execute a comprehensive business
development strategy to drive software sales growth, targeting
specific industries or market segments. Identify and prioritize
high-potential prospects, conduct thorough research, and utilize
networking strategies to generate new leads. Engage with key
decision-makers and stakeholders, delivering compelling
presentations and demonstrations to showcase the value of our
software solutions. Nurture relationships with existing and new
clients, identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities to
maximize revenue potential. Collaborate closely with the supporting
team to develop customized proposals, negotiate contracts, and
ensure smooth handover of accounts for delivery. Stay up to date
with industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to
position software products effectively. Attend industry
conferences, trade shows, and networking events to build brand
awareness and expand professional networks. Provide accurate sales
forecasts and pipeline reports to the management team, leveraging
CRM tools and sales analytics. Collaborate with marketing teams to
develop targeted campaigns, sales collateral, and promotional
materials to support lead-generation efforts. What You Need to Have
Knowledge Of Research capability to acquire a strong knowledge of
software solutions and industry trends, with the ability to
understand customer pain points and propose tailored solutions.
Experience with CRM software and sales analytics tools to track and
manage sales activities. Qualities Needed to Be Successful Proven
track record of exceeding sales targets in a software sales or
business development role, preferably in Information Technology.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability
to articulate complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
Exceptional negotiation and closing skills, with a demonstrated
ability to handle objections and influence decision-making
processes. Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and the
ability to identify and prioritize high-value opportunities.
Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and
a relentless drive to achieve results.
