Job Description:
ACCEL Schools is seeking highly-qualified Virtual Intervention
Specialists in Ohio who are dedicated to providing a superior
education for all students in our upcoming school year! We are
seeking teachers who are excited to create a rigorous and nurturing
classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and
social-emotional development. ACCEL Schools uses a cutting-edge
21st-century curriculum, which can be accessed online and through a
variety of traditional methods. Ohio residence is required for this
position. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the
following:Assist with the implementation of the IEP for each
student servedMaintain all student records and files according to
the Models Policies and Procedures and will follow up on all
requests for IEP and MFE datesUse computers and other technology
provided to assist studentsWrite lessons plans to accommodate IEP
curriculumTeach all subjects following the OHDELA course of study
or as assignedPrepare and administer all standardized tests as
directedMaintain confidentiality concerning all student information
and any professional mattersWork with the teaching staff to improve
standardized and proficiency testing resultsKeep accurate records
on each student such as grade books and progress reports, lesson
plans, attendance records, and behavior/discipline recordsMaintain
the classroom environment and discipline in an orderly fashion
conducive to good learningWork in a professional and cooperative
manner with others to achieve duties and responsibilitiesAct in
accordance to the directives and assignments given by the
AdministratorAgree to abide by the policies, directives, and
guidelines as stated in all OHDELA manuals pertinent to the
positionWrite IEPs in a timely mannerProvide information to school
staff regarding needsCollaborate with teachers, psychologists,
parents and AdministratorParticipate in the RtlResearch and locate
prior school IEPWork with related services to keep evaluations
current, updated every three yearsPlan and deliver services for
students with special needsProvide resources for classroom teachers
for areas of disabilityContinuously maintain current training and
updates pertaining to policiesBe aware of students status for state
and district testing and provide proper accommodationSchedule IEP
meetings as neededCollaborate with professionals outside of school
to continuously remain updated on student's progressProvide EMIS
forms to the data entry personal for all students with
disabilitySchool activities - the intervention Specialist is
required to attend and/ or participate in such other activities as
directed by the Administrator such as: faculty meetings (before or
after school hours), open houses, commencement exercises, chaperone
student activities, provide guidance for students, participate in
professional learning communities, study and help resolve school
problems, and participate in the preparation of courses of study -
these activities demonstrate valuable support for OHDELAPerform
student home visits as requiredPerform other duties as
assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Ohio residency REQUIREDBachelor's Degree
minimumCurrent certification/licensure in appropriate
areaProficiency in computer applications, including MS Office
Suite, e-mail, and internet applicationsExcellent verbal and
written communication skillsstrong content knowledge in one or more
content areasExhibit genuine care for children and a passion for
teachingStrong ability to gather, analyze, and interpret student
data to make sound educational decisionsExhibit flexibility with
regard to decision-making, daily challenges, and job dutiesHas
strong sense of integrityHas a "team player" attitudeAbility to
work in a diverse educational community settingUnderstand the
community and student demographicsUnderstand or is willing to learn
the RtI process;Understand state proficiency testing as well as
state teaching standards;Satisfactory completion of state required
criminal history check and health tests;Successful completion of
federal and state criminal background checks; andPhysical ability
