*US Together's Mission: * To coordinate, organize, and initiate services to refugees and immigrants through education, advocacy, support services, information, referrals, and networking opportunities to strengthen the community that we live in and to promote international understanding through intercultural exchange. US Together, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) mutual assistance agency founded in 2003 as a response to the needs of refugees and immigrants in central Ohio. As a Refugee Resettlement Agency and an affiliate of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, we welcome refugees from all over the world who are forced to seek refuge in another country due to the inability to stay in their native country. Services are provided in our Columbus, Cleveland, and Toledo offices. We serve people who came from many countries where their rights and very lives are in danger. They are starting their lives anew in the United States.*Volunteer Engagement & Community Outreach Coordinator Position Overview: * - This position will primarily be responsible for coordinating volunteer engagement and community outreach projects/initiatives for UST-Cleveland; additional support willbe provided via UST's Volunteer & Community Engagement AmeriCorps Vista - This position will be responsible for launching UST's community sponsorship project/initiative; this will include developing a system of formalized standards of procedure and processes related to in-kind donations and volunteer support related to home setups and transitional/temporary housing support for newly arriving refugee and immigrant families.*Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: *Volunteer Coordination, In-Kind Donations, & Community Outreach: - Recruit, onboard, train, and coordinate new volunteers; collect background information, time/availability, skills/experience, and other relevant information and assign accordingly to clients/cases and/or programs; resolve issues/concernsthat arise throughout volunteer service period - Solicit in-kind donations and cash contributions from various faith-based organizations, community partners, private/public enterprises, and volunteers; in particular, items related to new arrival home setups and client/case core maintenance needs - Coordinate with UST-Cleveland program teams to ensure volunteer support, in-kind donations, and cash contributions are allocated and provided to where support is needed most and/or most effective in a timely, efficient manner - Track/report volunteer support and in-kind donations according to related programming; this includes maintaining/updating databases and developing separate tracking systems if/when needed - Maintain regular, ongoing communication with volunteers, in-kind donors, and community partners, informing each of UST-Cleveland's organizational needs related to volunteer support/in-kind donations and how to get more involved - Regularly coordinate/facilitate community outreach events and develop associated materials, whether through presentations, public information sessions, newsletters, social media, news outlets, and other community outreach activitiesCommunity Sponsorship Project/Initiative: - Design UST-Cleveland's Community Sponsorship Project/Initiative; this will be directed towards new arrival home setups and transitional/temporary housing support for newly arriving refugee and immigrant individuals and families - Conduct outreach and maintain regular, ongoing communication with various faith-based organizations, community groups, private/public enterprises, and additional volunteers about benefits of community sponsorship and potential opportunities - Develop standards of procedure, outreach materials, and associated documentation for recruiting/onboarding community partners, tracking/reporting in-kind donations/volunteer service hours, and coordinating/allocating each to programs accordingly - Ensure community sponsor organizations and individuals/families served have a clear understanding of their roles, rights, and responsibilities; provide ongoing clarification and conflict resolution as needed - Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and participant feedback to improve outcomes; actively participate incapacity building/project sustainability discussions for community sponsorship, including the development of additional funding sources*Position Requirements: * Undergraduate degree with at least two years of prior work experience in volunteer engagement/community outreach within the context of nonprofit organization and/or refugee resettlement preferred Ability to maintain regular ongoing communication with faith-based organizations, community partner groups, private/public enterprises, and additional volunteers about various opportunities to get involved and provide support Ability to coordinate in-kind donations drives and volunteer services according to UST programmatic needs indicated by UST program staff, including those related to new arrival home setups and transitional/temporary housing solutions Proficient in general office software applications, e. g., MS Word, Excel, Outlook, internet applications and database systems. Excellent written and oral cross-cultural communication skills; Fluent in English, bothspoken and written; bilingual ability in another primary caseload language is helpful; proficiency in Dari/Pashto, Swahili, and/or Arabic preferred Self starter with excellent analytical skills combined with the demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and work efficiently Valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance, ability to drive an Us Together passenger van preferredJob Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $17.00 $19.00 per hourBenefits:* Dental insurance* Flexible schedule* Health insurance* Paid time off* Professional development assistance* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceSchedule:* Monday to Friday* Weekend availabilityExperience:* Community Engagement: 1 year (Preferred)* Volunteer Coordination: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
