STUDENT SERVICES OFFICER (SSO) JOB DESCRIPTION**This position is on campus and not an online position. No relocation.**POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Student Services Officer (SSO) works under the direction of the Director of Student Services (DSS), Academic Dean and/or or Campus President to plan and execute student success strategies. This position also works in conjunction with other student services departments, faculty, staff, and management as well as local individuals and organizations in the community for the purpose of the ensuring student success and retention within the College.The Student Services Officer (SSO) reports to the Director of Student Services (DSS), AcademicDean or Campus President depending on size and need of the campus.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helps to plan, organize, and implement student success and retention strategies of theCollege.
    • Responsible for coordinating the re-entry efforts by contacting students who have previously dropped a program and ensure
    • Coordinates retention plans with faculty, staff, and other departments.
    • Coordinate campus re-entry campaigns and work with students who have dropped to re- enter and complete their program. Ensure campus re-entry budgets are achieved and ensure all appropriate paperwork (Admissions and Financial Aid) are completed timely and accurately.
      • Encourages students success with coaching and advice.
      • Assists in tracking results of the student experience within committees and college groups.
      • Supports orientation session for on-ground and any distance education orientation.
      • Reaches out regularly to current and past students, through phone, email or other communication tools to keep the students actively engaged
      • Collects, prepares, maintains and analyzes retention metric data.
      • Performs additional related duties as assigned and needed.
      • Communicate effectively and cooperate with faculty, staff, and other departments.
      • Perform the essential duties of the DSS, as defined by the Campus President, based on campus size or extended absence of the DSSJOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
        • Associates degree OR equivalent experience and education. Must have minimum of aHigh School diploma or GED required.
          • Strong customer service experience required.
          • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
          • Ability to work a flexible day and evening schedule and some weekends required.
          • Any applicable and related experience and education in the field of student success preferred
          • Experience with personal development or life skills coaching and development are beneficial.COMPENSATION
            • Non-Exempt - hourly position
            • Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge and education levelJob Type: Full-timePay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hourBenefits:
