ShareCorps - Greater Cleveland Food Bank -Agency Capacity

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio having provided over 55 million meals in 2020 to hungry people in Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Ashland and Richland counties. The organization's mission is to ensure that everyone in these communities has the nutritious food they need every day. In our three-year strategic plan, we will improve access and outcomes for people we serve by better tracking success. We will begin to measure the impact of our work for the people we serve in regard to their (a) increased food security (their access to nutritious food, every day) and (b) their health and well-being. We will reduce access gaps for underserved populations and communities, identifying barriers to service and developing plans to address them. Member Duties : Build capacity for partner agencies by increasing their volunteer network, due to the increased food demand from the COVID-19 pandemic volunteers are needed to meet the need. Use data collected from our digital PantryTrak system and available data in the Access Gap Tool, to meet with key partners and close the access gap in key communities. Finally, collect client data related to food security and health outcomes through surveys and focus groups. From these objectives, new processes can be streamlined in relation to building volunteer capacity, improving service gaps in the community, and getting client data for food security and health. Overall, this work will increase GCFB's ability to meet the need of our community for access to fresh, nutritious food.
