Principal Responsibilities: Set-up and operate all casting machines, trim presses, secondary machines and equipment to insure maximum quality, utilization and quantity. Remove and/or install casting and trim dies, performing all necessary connections, adjustments, component replacement, and repairs as directed by supervision.

* Receive information and instructions from supervisor. * Remove, install, set-up casting dies, trim dies and ancillary equipment, making all water, oil, hydraulic and electrical connections and verifying the operation of the same. * Perform minor maintenance, repair hydraulic leaks and correct minor electrical problems, including switch adjustments. * Perform minor die repair, remove stuck pieces, castings and clean die parting lines. * Anticipate and correct all problems with launder, holding furnace, automatic ladle, casting die and machine, industrial robot, die lubricator, die sprayers, air or water quench systems, casting transfer equipment, trim die and trim presses. * Operate all equipment manually as necessary. * Continuously monitor metal temperatures, plug size, casting removal, die spray, part release and transfer, trimming operation and quality of castings, making corrections as necessary. * Perform all other duties incidental to the safe and efficient operation of the manufacturing cell as directed by supervision. * Bulk pack, and inspect castings in preparation for shipment. * Coordinate all operations of the manufacturing cell to insure maximum quality an utilization. * Visually inspect all castings to the Inspection Control Plan. * Complete proper process parameter checklist at start of shift. * Make entries in automation log (ex. Record changes made to program for robots, casting machines, trim presses, etc.). Record pulling dies for any reason, restarting shot to layout and all other data relating to the cell operation. * Deliver a casting to supervisor after repairs have been made to the impression steels - such as stuck casting, polishing, grinding, welding breakouts, etc. * Assist other manufacturing technicians when they require help. * Fill out and monitor all S.P.C. charts and necessary production records, including die temperatures, metal temperatures, plug sizes and die work orders. * Record down time causes, corrections, and provide records to the foundry office at the end of shift. * Work scheduled weekends on production and/or preventive maintenance as directed. * Transport dies, tools, and equipment to storage racks, staging area, using proper lift truck and cranes. * Train new employees as required. Pass information from shift to shift. * Change plunger tips and shot sleeves as required. * Oil, clean, store dies, tools and equipment as required. * Set-up stationary sprays, ladles, extractors, reciprocators, install die heaters, maintain and fill start-up lube and shot bead dispensers. * Keep equipment and work area clean, neat and orderly. Complete T.P.M. Checklist. * Hand file, grind, remove burrs, and flash from castings as required.

Perform all other duties as assigned by supervision.

Must be bale to read and write and perform simple task.
