SummaryCompetitive pay, generous time off, great benefitsPerforms a variety of technical procedures in the use of CT (Computerized Axial Tomography) scanning equipment in the diagnosis of diseases in humans. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.Contributes To Patient Safety ByResponsibilities:* Providing a safe environment for patients.* Reporting safety concerns, errors and near misses.* Participating in system improvement initiatives to prevent errors.* Providing evidence-based care as applicable to the role.* Performs a variety of technical procedures by:* Operating the necessary equipment to obtain optimum detail and diagnostic quality images.* Producing sectional scans of organs in the body required in the various procedures.* Developing scans by automatic processing and reconstructing image on a computer.* Performing daily safety, quality control and visual maintenance checks on equipment.* Following Radiation Safety practices.* Prepares patient, attempts to lessen discomfort, and prepares requested procedure(s).* Transfers images to PACS system or other VNA/media.* Assists physician in biopsies and other diagnostic procedures.* Administers drugs and contrast agents as required per examination following defined policies.* Performs other routine duties such as:* Answering telephones.* Obtaining records and information as needed.* Maintaining records of patients and daily procedures.* Determining quality of scans and recording them on film and computer tape.* Maintaining and supplying the area.* Transporting and assisting patients as needed.* Administering first aid/CPR in emergency situations and initiating code procedures as needed.* Maintains appropriate communications to insure proper standards for patient examinations.* Keeps abreast of medical terminology and anatomy.* May be required to rotate to all shifts or provide on-call coverage as assigned.* Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.RadiologyEmployment Type: Full TimeBonus/Commission: No
