Job Description:
Position Overview:
Mid-West Forge is looking for a detail-oriented self-starter to
join us for a seasonal assignment within our Human Resources
Department. This person will work closely with the HR Manager on a
wide range of relevant compliance and recruitment-based projects.
The administrator will collaborate on process improvement &
implementation, training programs, engagements, communications, and
various audits. We welcome strong communicators with exceptional
organizational skills, and a proven ability to multi-task while
working either independently or collaboratively in a dynamic
environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides thorough assistance in human resources functional areas
and assists in general responsibilities throughout the
department.
Contributes to projects and programs of diverse scope relating to
HR functions.
Practices ownership of recruitment, onboarding, record keeping and
retention, auditing.
Runs various metric reports and presents data in weekly
meetings.
Maintains a satisfied level of customer service with clients both
internal and external.
Maintains confidential and organized employee records, both
electronic and physical, related to onboarding, benefits,
accommodations and leaves.
Supports onboarding and offboarding processes by ensuring accurate
documentation and data management.
Identifies opportunities for process enhancements within HR
including time & record keeping, communication, engagement
benefits, 401(k) administration, and leave management.
Creates & Publishes site communications including weekly
installment content, monthly newsletters, digital and physical
notice board postings, texts and emails.
Serves as proxy for HR peers during vacation including ownership of
daily tasks and regularly scheduled meetings assigned by HR
manager.
Co-hosts companywide events monthly including DEI themed
engagements and scheduled celebrations.
Attends local job fairs, educational conferences and community
service events with HR team.
Partners with business leaders on various projects and initiatives,
adapting to evolving company needs and priorities as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role involves no supervisory duties.
Education and/or Experience:
Possesses or currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human
Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or
equivalent experience).
1-2 years of progressive experience in HR studies or practice
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and discretion when
handling confidential information.
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
Key Competencies
Communication Skills:
Ability to draft professional email correspondence, presentations
and memos.
Ability to effectively report data and job specific information as
needed.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, leadership
and vendors.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with
employees, conflict management, and external partners.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to understand and perform intermediate mathematics
including but not limited to percentages, averages, formulas and
graph/ chart development for reporting.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word,
PowerPoint).
Comfortability with Outlook
Confidence with digital self-service platforms is a plus (Proliant
for example)
Competency around running digital reports and manipulating
spreadsheet data
Experience with Plex is a plus
Physical Demands:
Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
Acclimate to high noise and vibration levels while navigating
production floor
Wear and adhere to all PPE guidelines including hard hats,
protective eye wear, ear plugs, and approved footwear with
metatarsal and steel toe safeguards.
Lift and /or move up to 30 pounds
This role involves walking through, auditing, and engaging on the
production floor. Time spent on the production floor may expose
persons to fluctuating temperatures, noise, debris, conveyance
systems and potentially dangerous machinery or equipment. Passage
through the plant will involve high levels of floor and overhead
traffic due to material transportation throughout the facility
which can cause high levels of vibration and airborne disturbances.
There are areas of paved and unpaved walkway, rail cart systems,
active shipping lanes and occasionally standing water to be
cautious of.
