The HR Compliance Specialist II ("Specialist II") serves as a
compliance partner on the requirements for pay, time and
attendance, leave of absence, equal employment, discrimination,
harassment, I-9 and E-Verify, and other local, state, and federal
laws and regulations. The Specialist II is expected to support HR
compliance functions, policies and procedures, controls, assessing
for HR and employment-related risks, and all related monitoring.
The Specialist II is expected to work closely with inhouse and
external counsel to research legal and regulatory requirements in a
multi-state environment, assess related HR risks, and develop
action plans in collaboration with and support of Human Resources
and Field Operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the HR Compliance team in overseeing all aspects of HR
compliance including policies and procedures, education and
training, controls, risk assessments, and monitoring and
auditing.
- Review flagged background check reports and evaluate the facts
and circumstances. Make determination, with the assistance of HR
senior leaders and the legal team as needed, as to whether the
background report results preclude a team member from employment at
TA. -
- Follow I-9 and E-Verify procedures, monitor for compliance with
I-9 and E-Verify requirements, and complete tasks coordinated
through TA's Applicant Tracking System, and assist in coordinating
and conducting I-9 audits.
- Perform data input and modifications in the HRIS system (e.g.,
name changes, address changes, start date changes). -
- Attend classes, seminars, and other types of training and
education to stay knowledgeable and current on local, state, and
federal laws and regulations, and best practices for HR
Compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Human
Resources or related field preferred.
- 3+ years Human Resources experience required.
- Corporate Compliance and Ethics experience a plus.
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, documentation,
and written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with a broad range of HR concepts and employment
laws, including FMLA, DOL, ADA, and equal employment opportunity
(EEO) laws.
- Highly collaborative and organized; team player.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products and HRIS
applications.
- Ability and willingness to respond to team member concerns
quickly and accurately.
- Ability to maintain confidential team member records, and
