Registered Respiratory Therapists provide evidence-based clinical care to some of the most critically ill patients in the United States. Caring for adult, pediatric and/or neonatal patient populations, Registered Respiratory Therapists evaluate, treat and care for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders, such as asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, COPD, and lung cancer. The Registered Respiratory Therapists floats to multiple Cleveland Clinic locations to perform respiratory care services for the geriatric, adult, and pediatric population in a variety of inpatient settings like critical care, obstetrics, ED (Emergency Department), and behavioral health. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts, which will primarily be evenings (3:00pm-3:30am / 3:00pm-11:30pm) and nights (7:00pm-7:30am), with rotating weekend and holiday requirements. RRTs in our Enterprise Flexible Staffing Pool will float to multiple locations, and receive additional incentive pay to work at varying locations. A caregiver who excels in this role will: - Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies. - Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans. - Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. - Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis. - Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: - Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program - Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care - Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Maintain site specific competencies/certification for each Cleveland Clinic location - Minimum one year critical care experience (NEW GRAD RRTs ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO FLOAT IMMEDIATELY AFTER GRADUATION). Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: - Bachelor’s degree - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification - Skills: active listening, collaboration, adaptability, critical thinking, accountability, independent working and receptive to feedback Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $36.75 Maximum hourly: $48.55 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
