for a Casual position. This position covers the Kane, Bradford, St.

Final title and pay will be determined by education, experience,
and certifications. Responsibilities: - Focuses on customer service
and continually strives to perform the duties of their job in a
manner that will result in optimal patient satisfaction. -
Continually develop professional skills by assuming responsibility
for ongoing continuing education. - Evaluates, plans, and treats
patients in an effective Physical Therapy Program, including the
use of modalities and assistive devices within the Standards of
Physical Therapy Practice. - Identifies, develops, and participates
in process improvement opportunities within the Agency's Home
Health or Early Intervention programs that will enhance the quality
of services we provide. - Assigns and supervises the Certified
Physical Therapy Assistant, if applicable. - Attend compliance
training and adhere to the organization's standards of conduct,
policies, and procedures. - Performs duties and job
responsibilities in a fashion that coincides with the service
management philosophy of UPMC toward patients, visitors, staff,
peers, physicians, and other departments within the organization. -
Maintains and completes all required documentation, orders, and
Point of Care or written, promptly and accurately within Agency and
regulatory standards. Data syncs (transmits) information on the
same day, if applicable. - Advises and consults with the family,
inter-intradisciplinary team members, physicians, and other
professionals, as appropriate, to ensure optimal patient care. -
Provide physical therapy services and participate in the
development of a physical therapy plan of treatment, including
modalities, frequency, and treatment in collaboration with the
referring physician for patients from birth to geriatrics to assist
patients in obtaining maximum functional independence within the
standards of physical therapy. Responsibilities: - Communicates
patient's status to the referring physician and other health care
team members. - May serves as a clinical instructor for physical
therapy students as well as residents and fellows in a specialty
area of physical therapy. - Maintains professional
license/registration through steady pursuit and participation in
appropriate continuing education and professional development
opportunities to satisfy requirements for licensure/registration
renewal. - Performs physical therapy assessment, reassessment, and
treatment, and supervises physical therapist assistants in the
treatment of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
referred by a physician to the clinic. Develops plan of care
including goals and treatment plan by physician referral, nature of
injury/illness, and results of physical therapy assessment.
Modifies or adjusts plan of care based on patient's response to
treatment and/or changes in patient's status. Works with PTAs to
adjust patient programs as patient status changes. - Rotates
through selected treatment areas when necessary to facilitate
organizational needs. - Attends and actively participates in staff
meetings and in-service education programs. - Maintains written
documentation for all physical therapy services rendered, including
documentation of initial assessment, follow-up visits, and
discharge summary consistent with department standards. Co-signs
physical therapist assistant documentation biweekly. - Completes
necessary charge and statistical information to accurately reflect
the service rendered to the patient. - Provides verbal and/or
written home instructions to the patient and/or family members when
applicable. - Schedules patients to achieve and maintain a level of
productivity that meets or exceeds the standard established for the
facility by the organization while ensuring delivery of quality
patient care. Qualifications - Internal Graduate of a Physical
Therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied
Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical
Association and the American Physical Therapy Association; or Is
eligible for the National Registration Examination of the American
Physical Therapy Association; or Two (2) years of appropriate
experience as a physical therapist, and has achieved a satisfactory
grade on a proficiency examination conducted, approved, or
sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service, except that such
determinations of proficiency do not apply with respect to persons
initially licensed by a State or seeking initial qualification as a
physical therapist after December 31, 1977 required. One (1) year
of Physical Therapy experience to practice without supervision or
less than one (1) year if practicing under supervision, i.e.,
ALF/PCH, required Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: CPR
required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and
skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire - Automotive
Insurance - Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR) - Driver's License - Physical Therapist (PT)
