Job Description PRN Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Med Surg

caregivers of Fairview Hospital’s Parkview I Oncology and Women’s
Health Unit, healing and empathy come naturally. With a focus on
oncology and emphasis on women’s health and surgery, this unit
provides comprehensive care and caring services for adults, 18
years of age and older, who have medical and surgical diagnoses. A
caregiver in this position works Nights, 7:00pm – 7:30am. A
caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing
care. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and
communicate patients’ conditions. Note and carry out physician and
nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. Current
state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support
(BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
External applicants: two years of recent related nursing
experience. Internal applicants with less than two years’
experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could
be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and
approval. Will consider military RN experience. Any registered
nurse or advanced practice nurse must obtain a cancer specific
certification or demonstrate ongoing qualifying education within
the timeframe of the facilities accreditation cycle, if they work
in medical oncology, radiation oncology, the cancer center or the
cancer clinic and/or administer chemotherapy within an accredited
Cleveland Clinic facility. ONS Chemo/Bio course completed within
two years of hire if employed on units where chemo is administered.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN). Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting
patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires
working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to
communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20
to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force
frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force
constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in
excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as
required. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $41.00 Maximum hourly: $41.00
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the
anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual
compensation will be determined after taking factors into
consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience,
skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include
any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime,
