Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position, requiring 18 months of recent specialty experience and active OH or compact RN license. Responsibilities - Position is in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit - Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts (7am–7:30pm and 7pm–7:30am); typically two weeks days, then two weeks nights, based on facility need - Travelers may request a preferred shift, but must be willing to rotate if operationally necessary - Expected to work at least every other holiday during assignment - Uses Qualivis – Lotus for submitting hours worked - Responsibilities include providing telemetry care and monitoring Med/Surg patients - Orientation includes required ECG and medication safety testing - Badging and fingerprinting must be completed onsite before start date - Accommodation for local candidates with the same pay structure - Permanent or per diem employees must wait 1 year after previous end date to return - Nurses are temporarily exempt from nicotine-free requirements - Modules must be completed pre-start and annually, as designated by the facility - Facility will not accept PAPR as an alternative for facial hair except with approved exemptions Requirements - Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration (no pending) - 18 months of permanent Med/Surg Tele RN experience in the specialty required prior to travel assignments - Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required - Must pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation with two attempts allowed - One supervisory reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) in the specialty is required for consideration - No license hits or open background check cases will be accepted Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-608490.
