Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/14/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown float pool position requiring an OH or compact license and a minimum of 18 months recent specialty experience. Responsibilities - Position in a hospital Stepdown Unit float pool - Cares for cardiac stepdown and progressive care patients - Schedule consists of 3x12 hour shifts, rotating day and night (7am-7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am) - Shifts may be variable to meet operational needs and may require rotation between days and nights - Traveler may be floated to other stepdown or similar units as needed - Must be able to work at least every other holiday - Permanent and per diem candidates must wait one year before returning to employment at this hospital system - Background checks must be clear of open cases and license must be free of any restrictions - Fingerprinting and badging must be completed onsite prior to the start date - Required pre-start training modules must be completed prior to assignment and may be repeated annually - Nurses are currently exempt from the facility’s nicotine-free policy - PAPRs will not be available for caregivers with facial hair unless an approved medical or religious exemption is in place - Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate Requirements - Active OH or compact state RN license required at the time of consideration - Minimum of 18 months of permanent recent Cardiac Stepdown experience required - AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required and must be current - ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate tests must be passed during orientation - At least one supervisory professional reference from the specialty is required for consideration Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-624720.
