Job Description Hunter Recruiting is seeking a travel Certified Surgical Technologist for a travel job in Fairview, Ohio. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Certified Surgical Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours - Employment Type: Travel Sterile Processing Department OR Liaison Fairview, OH Shift: 6:30am - 3:00pm Sterile Processing Department OR Liaison will perform and serves as a resource for coordination and oversight of instrument readiness in the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) to facilitate efficient case flow. Sterile Processing Department OR Liaison Responsibilities: - Assists the Operating Room (O.R.) staff in preparing the O.R. suite for surgery by verifying instrument trays are available prior to case start times. - Keeps track of case flow during the day, monitor instrument needs, and notify SPD personnel in advance of any possible additional/emergent instrumentation needs. - Assist with planning and coordination of instrument turnarounds. Help communicate to the surgical team essential instrumentation information that may affect or delay surgery start time. - Assist OR and SPD leadership on preference card creation and/or changes to ensure accuracy. - Identifies instrumentation related to tray additions and reconfigurations, building surgeons specialty sets, etc. - Reports findings and revisions to the Sterile Processing Supervisor, Manager, or Director as deemed appropriate. - Participates and assists in new caregiver orientation, on the job training, in-service education and Sterile Processing Department quality assurance programs when needed. - Responds to problem calls from Surgery during regular business hours. - Assist in the transportation of sterilized instrumentation to the operating rooms as needed. - Assists in removing soiled case carts or un-sterile instrumentation and scopes from the operating room department. - Ensures quality of care by assisting in the cleaning and maintaining hospital instrumentation by following MIFUs. Able to process and clean any required equipment according to Manufacture’s guidelines, including the use of protective equipment as indicated Sterile Processing SOP’s. - Verifies that required instrumentation has been sterilized and is available for next-day, call or weekend cases. satisfaction surveys when required. - Enter KPI data into Sterile Processing Department portal on a daily basis. - Performs KPI data analysis to understand trends and identify operational issues within the operating rooms and SPD. - Daily communication with OR management and SPD leadership on instrument needs turn overs, and frictions Sterile Processing Department OR Liaison Requirements: - Education: HS diploma or equivalent GED required. - Certifications: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by HSPA or Certification Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) by CBSPD or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by AST required. - Minimum three years relevant work experience as a sterile processing / central service, and/or operating room technician required. - Lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull and navigate supply carts weighing >than 75 pounds.
