Job Description:

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit at Cleveland Clinic, providing high-quality care to adult patients with complex GI conditions.

The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit (G100) is a dynamic and supportive environment where caregivers work together to provide exceptional patient care. The unit focuses on treating patients with complex GI conditions, including GI Bleeds, Pancreatitis, Liver Failure, and Crohn's Disease. Caregivers on G100 work closely with providers to deliver safe and effective care, adhering to a strict patient-to-staff ratio of 6:1. The unit's positive and team-oriented culture encourages collaboration and education, with daily huddles to start and end shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients with complex GI conditions.
  
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
  
• Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions.
  
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  
• Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
  
• Educate patients and their families.
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
    
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
    
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
    
  • One year of current acute care RN experience.
    
    
    Preferred Qualifications:
    
    • 
      
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
      
      
      Certifications:
      
      • 
        
      • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).
        
      • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).
        
      • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification (if working in Critical Care area).

          Work Experience:

          • External applicants must have two years recent related nursing experience.
            
          • Internal applicants with less than two years' experience but post-orientation /90 day probationary period could be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval.
            
          • Successfully pass all prescreen competency assessments required.
            
          • Will consider licensed military RN experience.
