Colorectal Surgery is part of Cleveland Clinic's Digestive Disease
Institute, which has been ranked second in the nation.O
ur dedicated and highly engaged nursing staff is focused on
providing world-class medical and surgical care to patients with
medical problems such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, colon
cancer and genetic bowel disease
.
The H50 Colorectal Surgery Unit is part of Cleveland Clinic's
Digestive Disease Institute, which has been ranked second in the
nation. Working with 16 colorectal surgeons, our dedicated and
highly engaged nursing staff is focused on providing world-class
medical and surgical care to patients with medical problems such as
Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, colon cancer and genetic bowel
disease.
This RN position is part of Cleveland Clinic's Weekender Flex
Program and will require you to work two 12-hour shifts per weekend
and one 12-hour shift during the week. Weekend shift options start
at 7:00pm on Fridays and end at 7:30am on Mondays. While you are
only working
36 hours
a week, Cleveland Clinic will pay you for
44 hours
of work and give you full-time status and benefits. This schedule
allows caregivers to enjoy personal time during the week with
family and friends and take care of any errands that will not
interfere with a typical day shift schedule
.
A caregiver in this position works
Day/Night Rotation, from 7:00am-7:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care
plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
Administer
prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families
.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart
Association (AHA).
One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider
military RN experience.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver
include:
Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting
patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand
coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular
hours.
Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally,
and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than
negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move
objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for
Light Work.
