Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or assigned Registered Nurse, provides various patient care duties for the rehabilitation patient. Assist with activities of daily living, direct patients in activities that support the rehabilitation plan, and document in patient Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Delivers and assists with patient meal services, stocking supplies, patient transport, messenger functions, and cleaning. Ensures compliance with all safety, sanitation, and quality control requirements. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required:
HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or obtains within 90 days of hire.
Recent experience as a Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Basic computer skills to document observations electronically.
Ability to read and write in English.
Ability to communicate well with patients and staff.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred :
1-year experience working with brain-injured patients and cognitively impaired patients.
Recent graduate of Nurse Aide, Home Health Aide, or STNA.
Physical Requirements:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance.
Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance.
Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
Requires some exposure to chemicals.
