Description We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our Lung Transplant team. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position, with variable shifts. In this role you will see patients in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. You will work closely with RN Lung Transplant Coordinators, as well as our Pulmonary Physicians and Cardiothoracic Surgeons. \n\n Position Summary/Essential Duties: \n\n The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing quality care for patients and increasing patient access and satisfaction. Standard tasks to be performed by a Nurse Practitioner as specified by the Ohio State Nursing Board and UH entity specific Medical Bylaws. Initiates and maintains positive relationships w/pts/customers. Initiates and maintains positive relationships w/co-workers. Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment. Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values. Performs patient assessment and assigns diagnosis based on recorded assessment data and current scientific and current research. Establishes plan of care and implements interventions in accordance w/carepaths, protocols, and standards of care and current research. Collaborates w/other health care providers in an interdisciplinary approach to provide care to the patient and family. Contributes to the educational development of staff, patients, family and self. Demonstrates progressive leadership and effective management. Provides education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and to promote professionalism. Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review.\nQualifications Education/Experience:\n\n\n\tNursing Doctorate or Master of Science in Nursing - Nurse Practitioner; OH Nursing license and APRN license required;. BLS required. ACLS preferred.\n\tPreferred :Acute Care NP, 1-3 years ICU, Cardiac, Transplant experience\n\tNew grad NPs will be considered if graduated with RN critical care experience\n\n
