wherever possible.Position SummaryAs a Technologist you will
provide key support to Alkaline & Hearing Aid Battery Research &
Development by scheduling and running pilot scale product trials,
supporting process development and production scale up for new and
improved battery innovations for the Energizer, Rayovac, and
Eveready brands. The right candidate is a self-starter who works
well with their hands, develops a deep understanding of the
materials, equipment, and process, and can collaborate with a team
of scientists to deliver consistent products for this
well-established business. The incumbent also develops strong
relationships with cross-functional partners and has experience
with standard work procedures and chemical safety in a lab
environment.Accountabilities Collects, records, and transcribes
routine and non-routine data; performs routine and non-routine
calculations; creates routine and non-routine tables and charts;
summarizes data and analyzes for exceptions; offers explanations
for data exceptions; creates data reports. Uses appropriate
materials and equipment and understands the underlying principles
of use or operation; applies understanding to the planning and
execution of assigned program steps, experiments and tasks.
Understands the basic principles, materials, and parts of energy
systems and/or devices in assigned area. Conducts trials that lead
to new and improved products or processes having marketable
cost/performance advantages. Trains and instructs others to perform
routine and non-routine tasks and experiments. Creates training
documentation. Coordinates the work of co-workers and interfaces
with other R&D product groups, equipment, service groups, and
plants to acquire the information and services necessary to execute
assigned program steps, experiments and tasks. Executes experiments
leading to new or improved methods and provides full documentation
of results. Practices proper safety procedures. Recognizes, reports
and documents unsafe acts or conditions. Provides leadership for
others in Key Result areas. Participates in and implements
department continuous improvement activities. Serves as an ad hoc
team member as required. Regularly communicates and engages with
peers and stakeholders as needed Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience Three years of pertinent college
course work or equivalent experience/education and a good
fundamental understanding of higher-level mathematics, mechanics,
general science, and general computer applications. Capable of
communicating both verbally and in writing. Ability to interpret
shop manuals, schematics, and work instructions. Ability to lift up
to 30 pounds on a regular basis. Available to work overtime as
needed. Strong attention to Detail. Computer skills: MS Word,
Excel, Outlook. Will generally have 5-10 years of demonstrated
related experience in a technical laboratory or similar
environment. Preferred Skills and Experience Associate degree or
higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Process engineering
or equivalent experience in these fields. Understand (M)SDS details
related to chemical hazard communication standards (GHS). Working
Relationships & EnvironmentWorking Relationships Interfaces with
supervisor for limited direction and guidance. Team focus by
building relationships and driving for continuous improvement.
Works with and provides guidance to co-workers as necessary.
Interfaces with other departments or groups to acquire and present
necessary information. Work Environment Will work in in an office
and laboratory setting Up to 5% travel is required. Work schedule
