Job Description:
The IT Senior Manager, Data Architecture will create and inspire
a team of data architects focused on accelerating the Digital
Transformation and the adoption of a data-driven culture at a
Fortune 200 Company by unlocking the maximum value of enterprise
data and information assets.Success in this role is defined as
leading a team that contributes to the larger organization by
serving as a bridge between business strategy and technical
execution. The team will create and maintain organizational
knowledge about data assets and the systems through which
information flows. The team will be measured on its ability to
enable the organization to improve the overall design, quality,
flow, and ease of access to enterprise data and information assets
while reducing costs and mitigating risks.Essential Functions:
- Actively engage with Enterprise Data Organizations and
Enterprise Architects to define information and data strategies as
part of an overall business strategy.
- Understand end-to-end solutions and suggest data management
solutions that will meet or exceed the expectations of the
customers.
- Ensure that data designs meet business requirements and systems
goals and identify and resolve data quality and consistency
issues.
- Cultivate a team that understands how data supports business
processes and how to find gaps in data or processes and then
develop strategies for improving these systems.
- Determine staffing capability and capacity requirements.
- Drive a culture of continuous process improvement.Acquisition &
Deployment
- Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new
application under consideration to determine its data
requirements.
- Ensure that any new data integration into company systems meets
functional requirements, system compliance, and interface
specifications.
- Contribute to the discovery phase of development by evaluating
proposals to identify potential data issues and make the
appropriate recommendations.
- Contribute to business cases, make recommendations, and define
success factors for data enhancements.Operational Management
- Facilitate discussions among data stewards, data custodians,
architects, engineers, modelers, and developers to ensure business,
data and IT needs align.
- Bring ideas to life by sketching, wireframing, prototyping,
testing, and writing.
- Facilitate and inspire idea-generation techniques within the
team.
- Ensures information assets are consistently delivering value by
defining and measuring key indicators.
- Maintain repositories for representing the information assets
including system design documents and reference architectures.
- Communicate business process and information asset improvement
through the application of detailed analytics and root cause
analysis.
- Plan and organize tasks, report progress, manage and coordinate
with cross-functional teams.
- Facilitate meetings and follow up with resulting action
items.
- Track project deliverables and meet dedicated timelines.
- Manage multiple projects, assignments, and priorities
simultaneously.
- Create and maintain development plans for each team member,
including training, skills assessment, career planning, and goal
planning.Incidental Functions
- Assist with projects as may be required to contribute to the
efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
- Attend business partner and IT staff meetings where
appropriate.
- Attend meetings on behalf of the team.
- Make presentations to management, partners, and peer groups as
requested.
- Train and share knowledge with development teams in
cross-functional capacities.
- Participate in hiring activities fulfilling affirmative action

opportunity policy.Position Requirements:Formal Education &
Certification
- Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in a Computer
Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology field of
study (e.g., Information Technology, Electronics and
Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Systems Management,
Mathematics) or equivalent experience.
Knowledge & Experience
- 12+ years IT experience.
- 8+ years Management experience or budget responsibilities.
- 4+ years hands-on experience leading teams or directly
contributing to develop architectural artifacts, including
policies, references, standards or templates.
- Practical experience implementing organization change
management.
- Skilled with data governance: business glossary, data
standards, data catalog and data lineage.
- Skilled with data management: data engineering, quality,
metadata and master data management.
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex business
relationships.
- Strong ability to multi-task with several concurrent issues and
projects.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of
the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication
skills.
- Experience advising ormentoring contributors regarding
datamodeling anddata mapping.
- Exposure to Enterprise Architecture Frameworks is
preferred.
- Exposure to API design and development is preferred.Personal
