Director, Sickle Cell Program
Director for Adult Sickle Cell Program
The Taussig Cancer Institute at the Cleveland Clinic is seeking
applicants for Director of Adult Sickle Cell Program. This position
is in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology. This is a
unique opportunity to further develop world-class care and research
for sickle cell patients. The Program Director will oversee the
management of adult patients with sickle cell and co-direct the
overall Sickle Cell Program, in close collaboration with colleagues
from pediatrics, pain management, internal medicine, emergency
medicine and other relevant specialties. The geographic area in
North East Ohio being served has 4 million individuals by census,
-20% of whom are ethnic minorities. This position requires an
exceptional individual with outstanding leadership skills to
further develop and expand the existing infrastructure for this
population. An opportunity to recruit additional high-caliber
talent into the program will be available.
In addition to promoting high quality clinical care, the Director
will collaborate with translational and basic scientists to develop
innovative clinical and translational research projects designed to
improve the health of patients with sickle cell disease, locally
and globally - Cleveland Clinic is a 6,500-bed international health
system with 22 hospitals and > 220 outpatient facilities in
northeast Ohio; southeast Florida; Las Vegas; Nevada; Toronto,
Canada; Abu Dhabi, UAE; and London, England. The Program Leader
will effectively articulate the goals, direction, mission, critical
issues, and values of the Cleveland Clinic to staff of the sickle
cell program, referring and affiliated physicians, and the sickle
cell community at large.
The successful candidate should be board certified or eligible in
Hematology and hold or be eligible for medical licensure in
Ohio.
