Job Description:
Position Summary:The Accounting Manager is responsible for
managing and overseeing all daily financial activities of the
company including month end close, AP, banking, tax and related
controls.Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities:Oversee
month-end close process and coordinate with other departments to
adhere to reporting deadlines.Provide and coordinate training,
direction, development, evaluation, coaching and leadership to
subordinates.Ensure all accounting transactions and accruals are
properly recorded on a monthly basis.Evaluate actual vs. budget
variances and report to management.Perform GL account
reconciliations.Maintain and operate treasury accounts to maximize
cash flow.Ensure sales tax is reported and paid accordingly.Assist
in developing internal control guidelines, policies and procedures
for accounting, cash management, administration and other
activities.Support strategy and business development by providing
analytical, financial analysis and insight; guaranteeing integrity
of all financial information.Plan, execute, and establish efficient
repeatable procedures for month-end close process.Coordinate and
consult with other MFS Supply locations regarding compliance and
policy matters.Maintain close working relationship with all
departments and respond to deviations from standards
immediately.Ensure compliance to all federal, state and local laws,
company policies and US GAAP.Ensure compliance to all company
internal controls, reporting and policies.Monitor and report KPI's
to proactively manage the business.Working
Conditions/Environment:Works in an office and assembly environment
where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, hear, sit,
stand, walk, and occasionally bend while moving about the
facility.Qualification Requirements:Strong interpersonal skills and
self motivatedAbility to communicate well with employees and
ManagementExcellent organizational skillsStrong understanding of
all accounting, finance, and business functionsBachelor's Degree in
Accounting, Finance, Business or similar field requiredCPA
preferred or equivalent in years of experience8+ years of
accounting experience with atleast 5 years in leadership roles
within manufacturing and/or wholesale distributionExperience with
NetSuite preferredSupervisory Responsibility:Responsible for the
overall direction, coordination and results of the Accounting
Department.
