Job Description:

The Director of Donor Records provides collaborative leadership and direction for the Cleveland Museum of Art's Philanthropy division. This role maintains direct oversight for the areas of gift processing, management of the Philanthropy database and reporting. This individual will oversee the accurate, timely and consistent processing of philanthropic gifts and grants and lead a team of 3 direct reports. -Requirements and Key Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, and 5 years' experience providing information service delivery, or equivalent combination. -
  • Competence in developing and implementing management information tools, data mining, and data modeling.
  • Demonstrable and progressively responsible experience managing a non-profit fundraising service operation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. -
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills and the capacity to develop effective relationships with all levels of internal and external constituencies.
  • Demonstrated querying experience using SQL in a fundraising database, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must be service-oriented and customer-driven, with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.   • Art historical knowledge and familiarity with museum operations a plus.Responsibilities
    • Provides collaborative leadership and direction for The Cleveland Museum of Art's Philanthropy support services programs by:
      • Recommend and implement Philanthropy's division database policy and procedural options
      • Establish and articulate implemented policies and procedures
      • Collaborate with senior administrators and staff to facilitate inter-departmental partnerships and data-driven decision-making.
      • Oversees the accurate, timely and consistent processing of philanthropic gifts and grants by:
        • Ensure policies and procedural options are followed
        • In coordination with the IT department, manage aspects of the Philanthropy database in terms of data integrity, reporting and special project development
        • Provide training resources and user resources for staff
        • Lead regularly scheduled team meetings to provide opportunities for exchanging ideas and information flow
        • Assume responsibility for the efficient and effective operation of the gift processing and development database management functions by:
          • Establish departmental goals, policies, procedures and standards; ensuring departmental compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws; and museum and departmental standards and requirements
          • Undertake fiscal accountability through careful management of all resources. Providing cost effective, creative services while remaining within the resources available
          • Maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives
          • Incorporate principles of teamwork with all organizational levels in the resolution, completion and follow-up of assigned responsibilities
          • Ensuring accurate, timely and consistent gift recording, reporting and acknowledgements by:
            • Develop informational tools, including identifying and generating decision-making reports for use by senior management and Philanthropy staff
            • Collaborate with senior management and Philanthropy staff to understand the scope of their data needs as requests for data are made
            • Develop and maintain data mining and analysis methodology that utilize both proprietary and commercial data for internal decision making
            • Develop appropriate coding mechanisms for internal processing which will enable long-term consistency and data manipulationApplication Material: Please submit a resume, cover letter, and 3 professional references. -Full-time Benefits include:
