Job Description:

Maintenance Manager Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures, including safety rules and maintenance procedure manuals Establish preventative maintenance schedules Assign and ensure schedules are maintained Ensure proper maintenance of tools, production line and its environment Oversee changes in technology Handle the maintenance of measuring devices and testing equipment Participate in the implementation of corrective action Schedule and follow-up on preventive maintenance Ensure the correct and efficient operation of all plant equipment and related buildings Plan, organise and supervise maintenance work Ensure all production and auxiliary equipment breakdowns are repaired in timely manner Implement and maintain a preventive maintenance program for plant equipment Coordinate preventive maintenance work on production equipment with the production schedule Participate with the Plant Manager in the preparation of the annual maintenance budget Monitor and control the maintenance budget and project investment budgets as required Distribute daily work tasks to employees in the maintenance department Ensure all plant buildings are maintained Analyze the causes of all breakdowns and recommends technical improvements Analyze and document processes and problems, developing solutions to enhance equipment efficiencies Recommend to the Plant Manager technical enhancements to continuously improve equipment efficiency and product quality Design, modify and install equipment as required Purchase all necessary replacement parts for plant equipment Purchase and maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and maintenance consumables Ensure that equipment always operates safely As needed, provide assistance to employees under direct supervision Inform the Plant Manager of any supplemental work required in the maintenance department Participate in establishing selection criteria for new employees for the maintenance department and participate in the interview process before hiring Implement ISO 9001 procedures to include making the necessary improvements toward the quality management system Address issues relating to quality problems that may arise from plant equipment problems Perform yearly risk assessment of related processes or operations Implement environmental, occupational health and safety rules to include performing actions that can improve the EHS management system and informing suppliers of applicable programs to include but not limited to:o Completion of Subcontractor agreement (Acknowledgment Letter) regarding Soprema's EHS policyo Request MSDS for chemicals (esp. those containing hazardous substances) not listed on the chemical database or from new supplierso Conduct safety meeting with sub-contractors prior to start of work, including completion of hot-work permits, as applicable Ensure that all Maintenance personnel have undergone pertinent training relative to their job to include but not limited too Electrical Hazards including Lock-out Tag-outo Hazardous material communication, proper handling, and storageo Hazardous waste handling and storage and proper shipmento Spill response, prevention, control and countermeasureo Storm-water pollution prevention Ensure that all required tests, inspections and maintenance of equipment pertaining to the EHS program are completed in a timely manner to include but not limited to those listed in EU U WAD EN RN 007 and/or as follows:o Air Emission Systemso Boilerso Chiller Systemo Silo Storage and Emissions Controlo Fire Extinguishers and Sprinkler System Act as Safety Coordinator during workplace emergencies Address any incidents that adversely affect (or have the potential to affect) the EHS management system Immediately address any incidents / accidents in the workplace which causes harm or injury to the environment and/or personnel Address any incidents that adversely affect (or have the potential to affect) the environmental management / safety system Other responsibilities as assigned by the Plant Manager. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree or higher MS Office, computer literate Training: Company Policy Quality Safety ISO 9001 ISO 14001, OHSAS 45001 Applicable company software / databases (Production - GPAO Graph, Maintenance - E-Maintenance) Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands: Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed Ability to work in tight spaces, heights and environmentally unfriendly conditions Reports to the Plant Manager.
