The Wastewater Manager is responsible for the continuous operation, maintenance, and performance of the Wastewater Pre-Treatment Facility. This position is directly responsible executing and reviewing the laboratory test to guide the operation of the wastewater processes. The Wastewater Manager will be responsible for training of operators and technicians with the goal of developing a Class III operator. This role currently will have one direct report (wastewater operator) and additional utility technicians that support the preventative maintenance plans and repairs of the facility.Essential Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for ensuring efficient operation, maintenance, and inspection of the Wastewater treatment facility.Provides training for Wastewater Operators and support staff with the goal to train operator to Class III levelInterprets analytical data and controls the various plant treatment processes - including by not limited to - sludge pumping, hauling, chemical receiving, aeration rates, chemical feed rates, tank levels, maintenance and anything related to process control, etc.Collects samples and performs laboratory and process control testsInterprets Production Schedules to predict wastewater loadingPerforms basic calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of equipmentUses plant computer system to monitor and adjust plant processesCoordinates Preventative Maintenance and major repairs with the Maintenance DepartmentResponsible for completing all records and reports as requiredEnsures accuracy of data and test results.Communicates information effectively, accurately, and timelyDemonstrates compliance with Daisy Brands safety rules and regulatory compliance agencies.Actively works to maintain a safe physical environment for self and coworkersUtilizes appropriate protective equipment and devices as neededUtilization of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document, analyze, and manage the equipment preventative maintenance process.Proactively address issues concerning pre-treatment operation, effectiveness, and reliability.Performs other duties as assignedThis position reports directly to the Plant Engineering Manager and works in tandem with the Maintenance Manager and supporting staff to ensure the reliability and performance of the Pre-Treatment system.This person will work inside & outside of the plant to effectively manage equipment performance, building upkeep, building climate, effluent discharges to the municipal treatment plant and ensure Industrial Discharge compliance. They will maintain a safe work environment and monitor all necessary procedures to ensure compliance within our Industrial Use Permit as well as, OSHA and EPA guidelines.This position will provide day to day supervision of one Wastewater Operator and coordinates Maintenance Utilities Techs that are assigned to support the plant. This position will lead the team members to meet short- and long-term goalsKnowledge, Skill, and Abilities:Knowledge and understanding of microbiological organisms in aerobic and anaerobic waste treatment systems.Demonstrate knowledge of modern water pollution control, odor mitigation and water treatment systems, principles and operating practices.Knowledge and understanding of laboratory procedures, operation, and regulation within a Wastewater Pre-Treatment Facility.Knowledge of equipment, proper operation, and familiarity with the manufacturers Preventative Maintenance requirements for the equipment.Education, Certification and Experience:Wastewater Operator Certification IVBachelors degree in chemistry, biology, environmental engineering or related field from a four-year College or university is preferred OR - Work experience in Wastewater Management, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field, equivalent to 6 years.For more than four generations (over 100 years), Daisy Brand has been a family-owned company committed to providing the freshest, most wholesome dairy products with over half a billion in revenues.
