Job Description Job Description Sr. Controls Engineer Title: Sr. Controls Engineer - Full Service Vehicle Assembly Location: Lake Orion, MI 48359 Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 Bonus Founded in the 1980s we are a 2,000 employee leader in designing and building custom automated manufacturing systems for industries like automotive, aerospace, and life sciences. Our Lake Orion location serves as a core hub for custom automated manufacturing systems, robotics integration, and turnkey industrial automation solutions. The team supports a wide range of industries including automotive, EV battery, medical device, consumer goods, and general industrial manufacturing, delivering complex automation equipment used in high volume production environments. For this Senior Controls Engineer position you will take technical ownership of advanced automation projects leading controls design, programming & system integration from concept through customer acceptance. What You Will Be Doing Lead the design, programming & integration of PLC, HMI, robotics, motion control, and vision systems for custom automated equipment Perform machine power up, debug, and system commissioning, ensuring equipment meets performance, safety, and customer specifications Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving robot controllers, ladder logic, electrical devices, mechanical units & peripheral automation equipment Drive workflow and design improvements by evaluating problems, identifying root causes & implementing corrective actions that enhance system reliability Support project delivery by collaborating with mechanical engineering, building teams & project managers to meet cost, quality & timing targets for customer programs What You Need for this Position Strong proficiency w/ Allen Bradley / Rockwell PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control, & industrial automation hardware Ability to travel 30-35% to customers nationwide Hands on experience commissioning automated systems, including debug, runoff, FAT/SAT & customer acceptance activities Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and provide technical direction to junior engineers or technicians Experience w/ AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools for reviewing and interpreting electrical schematics Familiarity w/ GM GCCS / GVOSS, automotive automation standards, or high volume manufacturing environments (this is a plus) What's In It for You Full Benefits Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD/STD, 401k w/ matching) and more!
