Job Description:
JOB SCOPE/ SUMMARY:
Coordinates and implements site improvement activities working
closely with the Manufacturing Manager, Engineering Department, and
cross functional support teams. Identifies and delivers best
practice programs to ensure the short and long-term success of
manufacturing. Work directly with font line operations
managers/leads, engineers, and operators to instill a LEAN and
Continuous Improvement culture supported by Masco Operating Systems
(MOS) tools and training. Collaborate, recognize and implement
highest impact opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery
and cost Help drive best Masco "best practices" across Mercury.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Drive production efficiency improvement efforts to achieve total
cost productivity (TCP) savings
Work with production and engineering staff members to develop and
maintain the Kaizen Pipeline
Lead and/or facilitate Kaizen events for both production and
business process improvements
Work closely with Production Managers and Engineering team to
ensure continuous improvement is a focus in all Safety related
goals and initiatives
Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost and morale to achieve
positive results in all areas
Evaluate and redesign production work cells as well as entire
production areas to improve safety, efficiency, ergonomics, work
flow and eliminate waste
Gain insights and ideas directly from operators for improving their
workstations, work environments and processes
Work across multiple sites and all shifts as need to ensure
consistent results throughout the shop floor
Create and evaluate operational performance and staff allocation to
recommend and determine the best use of resources coupled with
meeting operational goals
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
College Degree Major Desired: BS Engineering or Technology
(Industrial, Mechanical or related field) or equivalent work
experience.
Six Sigma Certified. Black Belt preferred.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years experience with lean manufacturing and Six
Sigma
Demonstrated problem solving and driving improvement activities in
a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated knowledge and track record of delivering results in a
high performance, continuous improvement environment through
process optimization and facilitation
Experience in the development and implementation of continuous
improvement tools and training curriculum preferred
Must be functionally organized with the ability to motivate and
inspire employees for improved operations performance
Experience working in Extruded Plastics and/or Injection Molding
preferred
Experience with working with plant layout design using CAD
Other Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong affinity for process optimization and data-based performance
improvement
Must work well with cross functional teams, inspiring team work,
and participation
Strong bias for action and continuous improvement. Results
driven
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
Excellent organizational skills with a strong ability to multi-task
in a fast-paced environment. Accuracy is a must
