LOCATIONS: Remote with 50-75% travel required to factory sites
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Expert for Utility/Mechanical Engineering has the professional
responsibility for Thermal, Refrigeration (ammonia), Waste Water,
Compressed Air, Boilers, Sustainability and Compliance. The
position utilizes areas of expertise, the ability to link them to
business needs, and providing technical solutions accordingly.
Primary industrial services responsibilities are:
--- Waste water system and treatment
--- Steam and hot water generation and distribution, including
condensate recovery
--- Refrigeration Cooling Tower and Chilled water (and/or other
cold medium) generation and distribution
--- Compressed air generation and distribution
--- Project, system design, trouble shooting and IS maintenance
background
--- Potable and process water treatment, supply, and distribution
system
--- AHU & HVAC system
--- Energy & Water efficiency and resource conservation of
utilities
--- Gas management system (N2, CO2, CO...)
--- Auditing systems - Ammonia, Carbon Dioxide, Boilers, Water
Systems,.....
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) expertise to project teams
(Factory and CPMO) with ammonia/refrigeration design, boiler /
thermal design, compressed air systems, and/or waste water system
design.
--- Coach and develop expertise at the Factory IS Department level
(IS Managers, Supervisors and Techs) for continuous support and
improvement of the Factory utility operation. Monthly Operational
Review participation to provide IS support as needed
--- Participate in professional / IS industry activities as
required. Review industry best practices and evaluate application
and benefits in the IS area. Obtain Nestle and external IS
certifications as needed.
--- Ensures knowledge and standards development in your technical
areas of expertise, coordinating with Experts / Specialists (within
and outside Nestle) in line with safety, product quality and
operations objectives.
--- Be accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation
of the industrial services to meet the operation's demand. This
includes guidance of the IS departments, providing direction, and
developing their capability and performance. IS operation includes
ensuring services are provided in the right quantity and quality,
reliably and efficiently, minimizing cost and environmental impact.

--- Compliance with all federal, state, local and internal Nestle
requirements from design through operation and maintenance of the
IS plant. Ensure the efficient operation of all utility systems
minimizing the use of natural resources, energy, and the impact on
the environment. Drive resource conservation and awareness within
the facility in alignment with Nestle.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
--- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Process
Engineering.
--- Licensed engineer and/or Utility certifications, preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
--- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience.
--- Minimum 5 years' experience in Industrial Services with Ammonia
Refrigeration, this must include refrigeration PSM/RMP experience.
Should also include Industrial Boiler and or WWT experience
--- 2-3 years supervisory experience in management of operational
and maintenance teams.---
SKILLS:
--- Good organizational and multitasking skills - ability to
balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities
simultaneously.
--- Strong management and leadership skills.
--- Competent IS systems knowledge.
--- Strong interpersonal skills to be able to work in a
collaborative team environment.
--- Strong communication and presentation skills.
--- High proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
PowerBi and MS Project.
--- SAP knowledge desirable.
--- Knowledge on applicable regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA,
ASME, ANSI, PSM/RMP and industry best practices)
--- Desirable experience in the food industry.
The approximate pay range for this position is $121,000 to
$155,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith
estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final
compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to
knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
