Job Description:

General Summary of Position:The Facilities Engineer is responsible for assisting in the coordination of all manufacturing/facilities maintenance activities such that the business can meet or exceed all customer expectations by creating a culture of service excellence.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain safety, quality, and compliance in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
• Assist with the maintenance of equipment
• Assist in planning and coordinating maintenance activities
• Responsible for corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance
• Assist with facilities development with regard to capital planning, process improvement, justification, procurement, and installation
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and repair of existing equipment and modification of new equipment
• Assist management in the evaluation process when determining the outsourcing of maintenance, projects, and improvements to contractors and/or vendors
• Partner with contractors and/or vendors as required to carry out maintenance, projects, and improvements
• Operate, maintain, and record waste treatments, including ordering and inventory of waste chemicals
• Assist with work orders, calibrations, and inspections as needed
• 1st tier support team member in emergency and/or unplanned shut-down and/or start-ups
• General upkeep of the facilities
• Other job duties as assignedQualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Trade School Certification or Associates degree in applicable trade (electrical, HVAC, welding, machinist, or other technical areas preferred)
  • 5 to 10 years of direct experience in a maintenance role
  • Experience with programming and networking PLC for automation and process control (preferred)
  • Experience with designing and implementing process improvements (preferred)
  • Experience with CAD for floor plan modifications and visualizations (preferred)
  • Must be able to work with hazardous chemicals
  • Must be able to work outside of normal business hours to support the business
  • Ability to work with and follow instructions from supervisors and/or other Facilities Engineer(s)
  • Knowledge of general maintenance and repairs in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to think analytically
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Can work independently and collaboratively as a team member to meet goals
  • Meets or exceeds our internal and external customers' expectations consistently
