Job#: 1323908Job Description:Job Description:This Progress Database Administrator & Applications Engineer position is a part of the IT team that is responsible for the day-to-day support of an ERP Solution (AXIOM). The AXIOM solution is implemented on the Progress OpenEdge platform. AXIOM is integrated with shop floor scheduling and production reporting .NET applications, a SQL-based Operational Reporting data warehouse, Tabware and elements of SAP, including Financials, Order Management and Transportation. Business areas supported include Manufacturing Planning, Sales Order Management, Quality, Part Maintenance, Steel Operations, Logistics, Purchasing and Finance.Job Duties:Front-line support of Progress databases, including health checks, analysis, administration, reorganization, Linux shell scripting, Progress patching and Disaster Recovery preparedness. This dual role will also entail functional & technical design, engineering development, unit & integration testing, implementation and technical documentation of enhancements and patches to the AXIOM application environment. Development and support of inbound/outbound Axiom interfaces, including use of XML and EDI. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Resource will be in direct contact with internal stakeholders and needs to be a team player with great organizational skills and an internal sense of responsibility and commitment. Successful candidate will be a self-starter with sound systems troubleshooting skills and the ability to follow-through on problem resolution.
