Save Job Job Saved Position Summary: The position is based at
Parker's Advanced Manufacturing Learning and Development Center
(AMLDC) located within the Parker Technology Center (PTC) facility
in Macedonia Ohio. The role is primarily focused on Additive
Manufacturing (AM) and Robotics development. Responsibilities
include CAD file manipulation, equipment operation, post processing
of AM builds, robot proof of concept demonstration & metrics
management. This position is a hands-on activity requiring a
creative, self-motivated, initiative taking person. Training will
be made available as needed. The position is a 3-6 month assignment
at 30-40 hours/week. Tenure may be extended on a part time basis
during regular university semester classes. . Responsibilities
- Assists in the operation of state-of-the-art AM equipment
ensuring highest level of safety for others, with high percentage
utilization and efficiency of the AM process.
- Download and manipulate 3D models for AM builds
- Assist in applying capabilities in automation, robotics and
vision systems to Parker Operations. Work with staff Robotic
Engineers to identify opportunities and develop solutions, along
with assisting Parker Divisions with implementation.
- Coordinate work in the queue(s), with flexibility towards
sudden priority changes.
- Ability to work independently under little guidance while
multitasking
- Manage and perform post processing activities such as heat
treat, surface finishing, dimensional verification, etc.
- Develops and documents operational procedures, process
optimization approaches, and quality assurance processes and team
performance metrics.
- Observe work assignments performed by others and actively
participate in hands-on projects and/or special assignments
- Use engineering skills to conduct analysis and modeling, engage
in product design, develop and execute testing procedures, and
participate in facilities engineering work.
- Maintain communication with program coach/mentor (if assigned)
to provide feedback on departmental assignments and program
improvements.
- Attend related training (if provided) and apply training in
work assignments. . Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a Sophomore or higher in a Bachelor's or
advanced degree program in a related engineering field such as:
Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Manufacturing
Engineering.
- Experience in 3D CAD modeling to create, design, manipulate
solid models
- Basic computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, email, etc.)
- Programming skills a plus
- Adept at working in a manufacturing environment
- Use of hand tools such as drills, files, wrenches, etc.
- Strong attention to detail
- Willing to do occasional overtime as project demands
dictate
- Has strong facilitation skills and ability to effectively
communicate and present status and actions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally, and 10 lbs regularly
- Approximately 0-5% travel may be required, mostly domestic
- Fluent in English (verbally and writing)
