Job Description:

Acara Solutions is seeking a Hardware Systems Engineer for our client in Solon, OH.This position will perform Engineering tasks related performance verification of precision test measurement equipment. Responsibility will be for hardware products and integrated test and measurement systems.

• Develop the test plans and methodologies as well as conduct the testing to ensure that products meet their functional requirements. Examples are: Embedded firmware command structure, user interface testing, functional testing, system level validation, etc.
• Design test fixtures and develop automated test software.
• Selection of the test tools and equipment to be used for specified test efforts.
• Document test designs, policies and procedures. Draft, review and maintain formal test procedures.
• Collaborate with design and sustainment engineering teams on product conformance issues.
• Actively participate in the setting of test schedule.
• Responsible for meeting test schedule goals.
• Monitor project status and maintain a flow of information to supervisor. Technical specification testing, regression testing, customer use case testing, and root cause analysis.
• Test plan definition, developing test methods, and test execution to ensure the products meet functional requirements. Specific focus in the following areas:
• Hardware testing focused on specifications, operating environments, functional, black box, and some white box.
• Embedded firmware command structure in various communication protocols- syntax and functional verification, timing analysis, and stress tests.
• Use case testing through the use of software and firmware on simplified customer devices.
• Design test fixtures and develop automated test software. Select the appropriate test tools and equipment to be used for specified test efforts.
• Fully document test procedures and results.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field desired.
  • 5+ years of either electronic hardware design or testing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with precision and general test measurement equipment
  • Knowledge of analog/digital hardware concepts and theory.
  • Programming skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • Effectively prioritize and implement tasks
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to the organization
