Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Master's degree in
Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1 year of
Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do
not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available to support
K-12 students with severe cognitive impairments (SCI) in a day
center setting. This role requires onsite work in a school
environment located in Ypsilanti, MI, serving a diverse student
population in need of specialized communication support. Key
Responsibilities: - Provide assessment, evaluation, and
individualized speech and language therapy for students with SCI. -
Implement augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
strategies and assistive technology (AT) devices to enhance
communication. - Manage caseloads in compliance with Michigans
maximum limit, typically up to 60 students. - Collaborate with
educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and
monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). - Maintain
accurate documentation of therapy services and progress.
Qualifications: - Valid Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist
license. - Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA. -
Experience working with school-age children, particularly within
K-12 severe cognitive impairment programs. - Proficiency in the use
of AAC and AT devices. - Ability to work onsite full-time and
engage in direct therapy services. - Applicants must not be SLP
Clinical Fellows (CF) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants
(SLPA). Additional Information: - This is a contract position for
the current school year. - The exact caseload size will be
discussed during the interview process. - Candidates must provide a
