Job Description:
COMPANY OVERVIEW The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District
protects public health and the environment by leading effective
wastewater and stormwater management. As the largest wastewater
treatment provider in the State of Ohio, the Sewer District spans
380 square miles, serves 63 communities and one million residents,
and treats 90 billion gallons of wastewater a year. INTERNSHIP
OVERVIEW The GIS Intern will support projects to manage our maps
and mechanisms for tracking NEORSD’s assets across the region. The
intern works alongside industry professionals to build and maintain
the systems to make asset data accessible, sharable, and useful for
all viewers. The intern will assist with various projects
throughout their assignment, including, but not limited to:
RESPONSIBILITIES Project Title: Stormwater Billing Support Analyze
and update impervious area (IA) dataset to support the Regional
Stormwater Management Program. Perform data analysis, QA-QC and
updates in accordance with billing procedures/guidelines. Performs
data research to support QA-QC task including County Parcel Auditor
sites and Billing Agent systems. Develop products (maps, data, and
reports) to document progress on QZ-QC tasks. Project Title:
Community Discharge Permit Program Support – OUPS Tickets
Coordinate with the Community Discharge Permit Program Specialist
to process OUPS tickets, including mapping locations, creating
polygons, updating attributes, managing documentation, and
distributing drawings through Outlook or ShareFile. Ensure timely
completion of tickets within two business days (average of seven
per week, approximately 20 minutes per request). Project Title: GIS
Administrative Support Create and update web maps, application,
scripts, and datasets to support District data collection and
maintenance needs. Follow procedures to archive completed project
datasets from ArcGIS online and document as needed. Provide
metadata creation and updates as requested. MINIMUM JOB
REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION Academic Status/Standing: Candidate must be
enrolled in school or must have graduated within 24 months from the
date of application. Field of Study: Declared Majors:
Geography/GIS, Environmental Sciences, Information Technology
Systems, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Planning, or a
related field of study. Degree Program Levels: Any of the following
degree program levels may qualify Bachelor’s degree (Junior/Senior)
Master’s degree Doctoral degree OTHER REQUIREMENTS Candidate must
be able to commit to a fixed-term assignment of 12 months with an
option to extend at NEORSD’s discretion. Candidate must be able to
work 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) during normal business
hours. ArcGIS experience is preferred Candidate must possess a
valid driver's license with a driving record in accordance with the
District's acceptable guidelines. Pay Range: USD, Commensurate
based on level of education Undergraduate: $19.82 Graduate: $21.85

composite-toed) when working in the plants, pump stations,

241-1999 or ASTM F-2412/2413 (2005) certified, 2) Must have a steel
or composite protective toe, 3) Must be, at a minimum, a 6" work
boot or 6" hiker-style boot (Note: shoes are not permitted), 4)
Must have a slip-resistant sole. It is also recommended, but not
required, that footwear be waterproof and have included a shank to
protect the bottom of the foot. NEORSD supports the use of hybrid
work as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in
public service, increase worker productivity and better prepares
the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be
authorized for hybrid work. Hybrid eligibility will be discussed
