Job Description:
A family-owned manufacturing company in Cleveland, OH is seeking
to hire a Controller to join our team. Specializing in the
packaging and printing of flexible materials, we are a growing
company with a proven history of success centered around our
commitment to customers and the "can-do" attitude of our team.
The Controller will be responsible for organizations' financial
planning, setting financial goals, and strategizing through
inventory cost-reduction programs to improve overall organization
performance. Will provide business insight and recommendations,
ensuring proper internal controls and procedures are established
and followed.
STRATEGIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-The Controller will be responsible for organizations' financial
planning, setting financial goals, and strategizing through
inventory cost-reduction programs to improve overall organization
performance. -Will provide business insight and recommendations,
ensuring proper internal controls and procedures are established
and followed.
-Ideal candidates will have a positive attitude, innovative

-Responsibility for day-to-day accounting operations to ensure the
accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of books and records,
maintenance of internal controls, and compliance with
regulations.
-Developing and documenting key accounting policies and ensuring
compliance with the key controls over financial reporting and
working capital management.
-Oversee organizations' finance functions including banking and
borrowing relationships.
-Responsible for annual financial audit and tax filings.
-Participate in the development of the annual budget for
Operations, Facilities Maintenance, and Inventory Management.
-Create and promote communication channels with employees,
customers, and vendors to effectively support systems and
processes.
-Assist in developing protocols for safety, quality, productivity,
information and data security, supply management, people
management, and Human Resources.
-Maintain a working relationship across organization departments:
Shipping / Receiving, Customer Service, Purchasing, Accounting, and
Sales. -Develop, implement, and continuously improve systems and
standards using Lean Manufacturing techniques, including 5S
Methodology and Root Cause Analysis.

TACTICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Record journal entries to accurately reflect financial
transactions.
-Prepare General Ledger account reconciliations ensuring accounting
book accuracy.
-Develop, improve and issue timely financial records for the
management team, ensuring that financial information is accurate,
meaningful, timely, and in conformance with GAAP and company
policies including rebate program and open damage / RMA / freight
adjustment claims.
-Monitor and manage cash flow, balance bank reconciliation.
-Oversee the month-end close process and results in the analysis
including reconciliations.
-Track annual budget performance monthly and work with the
Management team on identifying opportunities for cost reduction
initiatives.
-Ensure timely collections of accounts receivable.
-Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for
improvement, and implement new processes.
-Manage company payroll, employee benefits, and human
resources.
-Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and perform financial analysis as
requested.
-Participate in annual physical inventories; Has overall
responsibility for ensuring inventory is reported accurately in ERP
system and ultimate financial impact to the organization.
-Conduct weekly meetings to cultivate an exchange of ideas,
concerns, and information in the workplace.

-Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
-Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

effectively.
-Experience and competency with the Microsoft Office Suite
(Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred:
-Packaging background/experience.
-Flexographic printing knowledge.
-Marketing experience is a plus.
